PMO Lead for large project with Treasury group of Global Firm

Our client's Corporate Treasury division is responsible for global funding, cash management, and treasury services for all worldwide operations. Program Overview Corporate Treasury is undertaking a process and system simplification initiative for its debt & derivative processes, to drive improved controllership. This program is a cross-functional effort involving key treasury constituents and is sponsored by the CFO and CIO.
The simplification will target reduction in the number of legacy systems and end user applications, elimination of non-value added & non standard processes and an increase in the existing level of process automation. A new system implementation will be undertaken to support the new processes.
High Level Objectives
o Ensure all debt and derivative transactions are managed in the new transactional system
o Instruments include long term debt, swaps (interest rate/ cross-currency), FX and commodity derivatives (forwards/ options)
o Process coverage includes trade request, trade execution (capture/ confirmation/ settlement), valuation and accounting (inc. FAS 133)
o Ensure all debt and derivative related reporting and analytics are met through new reporting and analytical tool and enterprise data warehouse
o Create interfaces necessary to share data with other applications and sources/destinations
o Migrate data from legacy applications to new system
o Create a data management process to support ongoing business activities
To attain these objectives, 3 project tracks have been created, supported by a centralized program office:
1. Transactional Platform - design and implementation of new processes related to instrument lifecycle – Phase 1 (Debt & Swaps), Phase 2 (FX & Commodities).
2. Reporting & Consolidation - implementing reporting and analytics solution for requirements outside the functionality of the application, for example reporting with multiple data sources
3. Data Management - conversion of data in scope from legacy applications and spreadsheets into the new platform; business data management, governance and quality assurance processes
Each track team has constituents focused on different aspects of functional/ technical requirement gathering and solution implementation.
PMO Lead Responsibilities:
1. Integrate with track teams and facilitate regular meetings to review execution status to plan. Coordinate with team and drive accountability and completion of assigned deliverables.
2. Proactively manage execution, identify and communicate potential delays and alternatives to mitigate and minimize impact to timeline.
3. Understand project dependencies both within and across the tracks, working with Plan Coordinator to ensure these are accurately reflected in project plans
4. Facilitate approach and plan recalibrations, when necessary, and working with Plan Coordinator, identify alternatives to optimize plan
5. Coordinate communication mechanisms for tracks, including status, metrics, updating boards/visual displays
6. Drive closure and maintain status of EUA retirement after analysis is completed by Reporting & Analytics team
7. Assist with coordination and management of DDS PMO processes
Qualifications/Requirements:
1. Previous experience as project manager responsible for execution, preferably on a systems implementation
2. Clear thinker with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
3. Strong analytical skills, ability to identify root cause of issues and assess impact
4. Familiarity with project management standards, preferably PMI
5. Project planning experience, ability to define an approach, logically group and order work, assess resource requirements and impact to work if resources change
6. Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
7. Expertise in Microsoft Project , ability to use other MS Office tools including Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Visio
8. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
9. Detail oriented
10. 5 years previous experience
11. Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
12. Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen as part of the onboarding process
Desired:
1. Working knowledge of Treasury and/or Finance processes
2. Prior Trema/Wall Street System experience
